Our services

At Citizen Advocates, we are committed to making lives better throughout Northern New York. We offer mental health, addiction recovery and intellectual and developmental disability services and programs, along with a host of related support services, in Franklin, St. Lawrence, Clinton, Essex, Jefferson and Hamilton counties.

Our office locations are perfect for people who enjoy all the seasons and being outdoors. We have several mountains nearby for those who like four-wheeling, skiing, and snowmobiling. We also have a number of nearby lakes for those that enjoy fishing, boating or kayaking in the summer sun. The changing leaves in the fall bring visitors to town and there are always local events being held. Montreal, Canada is a short hour drive away for those who prefer to be close to a big city for shopping, entertainment and travel.

Meet Kirsti

Registered nurse Kirsti Davis manages the Medication Assisted Treatment program at Citizen Advocates’ Ogdensburg Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center. Medication Assisted Treatment, or MAT, combines medication and counseling to provide a holistic addiction treatment approach. “I enjoy MAT because it helps me with my own well-being,” Kirsti explains. “It lets me use my knowledge and experience to help folks.”

Kirsti feels a strong sense of purpose working for Citizen Advocates. “The reason I became a nurse is to make a difference in people’s lives. That’s what we do here every day,” she says. “The good things, the positive things, they’re everywhere.”

When Kirsti’s not working, she enjoys going on trips, crafting and writing fiction.
